Green Chicken Gravy | Hara Chicken Masala Recipe | Haree Masala Chicken

I already feel like a restaurateur! Yes, I do! I made this Green Chicken Curry and it drifted that special aroma which used to linger along my favorite restaurant into my living room! Read on to see how you can make a Restaurant Style Green Chicken Masala.     The easiest way to make the husband pleased is by trying out different varieties of  curries non-vegetarian curries. My followers know that I spoke more about it in the posts Roasted Lemony Chicken Breast and Lemony Mushroom Marinade. This Haree Masala Chicken is a totally different curry than my usual Pepper Chicken Fry or Kozhi Varuval (Masala Chicken Fry). Different because, unlike the other two recipes, the only whole-spice used in this Greeny Chicken Curry is Cloves. Cloves, for this recipe helps in giving a spicy-sweet aroma that can camouflage the raw smell of the meat. When I say, Green… Continue reading »

Chicken Biryani Recipe | Murgh Biriyani Recipe | Indian Style

When my siblings and I used to be younger,Amma makes Biryani very rarely. When it comes to making biriyani at home, the whole family gets together in the kitchen, everybody pretending to help mom . Mom starts by dictating a big list of ingredients, while the sister writes them on a lonngggg sheet of paper. When the father makes a big fuss in going to the market or the stores on other days, he gets ready almost immediately on this particular day knowing the menu. He kick starts his bike, waiting for the complete list and the market bag. He then returns with at least half the market stuffed into a sack bag, buying all and other items that were not in the list too! Mutton, Chicken, Biryani rice, Onions, Tomatoes, Chilies, Cashews, Coconuts, Banana Leaves, Mint leaves, Coriander leaves, Chicken-65 masala, ice creams, betal leaves etc… Continue reading »

We somehow got bored of it and desperately wanted to have a different recipe to marinade the Chicken. Thus came this Simple, Quick and easy Chicken rub recipe. Preparing this Chicken marinade or the Chicken rub is no big deal. It is a ‘No-Grind’ marinade recipe. All it needs is fresh Lemon or Lime, for the zest and the juice. Yes we’ll be using both the juice and the essential oils from the lemon/lime skin (lemon/lime zest) along with some cracked pepper and finely minced garlic.     You must know… Continue reading »

Chicken Keema Kulambu | Indian Style Ground Chicken Sauce

Many readers of Cooking Jingalala requested for Non-Vegetarian recipes. Whenever the husband sees such request messages from our fans in GoJingalala’s Facebook page, it makes him happy. It gives enough reasons for him to demand a variety of non-veg gravies, non-veg kurmas, non-veg biryani, non-vegetarian curries etc. from my kitchen.     Have you seen an  owl sitting high on top of thick branches of a tree? The owl won’t care about anything around it. It just sleeps sitting tight and warming itself with its feathers. If a group of children spot this owl and shout in excitement, the owl just opens one of its eyes and dismisses them by closing the eye immeditely. If a chirpy little bird flies around its head, the owl just eye-corners the bird briefly and returns back to its monk mode. The owl postures itself as though he’s angry and pondering deeply about an… Continue reading »

Pepper Chicken Fry | Milagu Kozhi Varuval | Chicken Pepper Fry Recipe

South-Indian style Pepper Chicken Fry Recipe | Tamilnadu Milagu Kozhi Varuval You can give some rest to your woolen sweaters this winter for this “hot and spicy pepper chicken curry” will give you all the warmth. The husband totally fell for this delicious chicken curry. I am sure; he fell not just for its color and taste, but for its “Vicks vaporub” action too. Yeah, if the roasted onions and garlic cloves in the dish gives the warm smell, and if the tomatoes and the lime adds a tangy taste, it is the “roasted pepper” that soothes a tough throat suffering from cough and cold. You sure can feel the remedy as when the chicken slides down your throat. The hot pepper curry goes in and your cold comes out (so have a tissue paper ready ). A very very simple “pepper chicken fry recipe” this is. Reason 1: “NO-marination”… Continue reading »
